So many of our favourite traditional Christmas Dinner recipes are easy to adapt to make in an air fryer. To make all my Air Fryer Christmas Dinner Recipes easy to find, I’m collected them all together here in one post. Plus I’ve included a few other recipes that are essential to make the biggest roast dinner of the year go off with a bang.
Air fryers are a wonderful thing and for many of us, they will be in full use over the festive period. No more so than for the main event itself – Christmas Dinner.
I use the air fryer in many ways throughout the year making various elements of roast dinners. They’re quicker to cook, easy to clean and most importantly for many people, economical to run.
But a word of caution. Whilst you can absolutely cook pretty much an entire Christmas roast in an air fryer, please don’t feel like you have to cook EVERYTHING in it. Especially if you have a smaller air fryer and/or are cooking for a large crowd.
Perhaps you decide to cook the turkey in the air fryer then finish up some roast potatoes while its resting whilst everything else cooks in the oven or on the stove. Or put some stuffing balls in. Alternatively you can roast vegetables in batches in the air fryer while the meat and potatoes cook in the oven.
Christmas Dinner Prep
Do remember that you can do lots of prep the day/evening before. I’ll be part-boiling my vegetables and potatoes and roasting them slightly in the oven. Other vegetables to be served boiled will be prepped and left to sit in pans of cold water. Sauces will be made and left to sit. I’ll also be mixing up the stuffing and making the pigs in blankets. The pigs in blankets will also get part roasted in the oven too.
And then on the day, just the amount that will be eaten for dinner will be finished off and air fried to perfection. My meat it too large to air fry so that will be oven roasted and the Yorkshire puddings will cook while it rests. Potatoes will be mashed, sprouts boiled and gravy finished.
It all sounds like a lot of work written down but actually there will be very little time needed in the kitchen before serving up. And putting the air fryer (actually I have two) into actual will really help with that.
